KIIT Group of Colleges, Gurgaon has been awarded Rabindernath Tagore Award 2013 by Gandhi Global Family for his
outstanding contribution towards society in general & student community in
particular. The award was presented by Shri
Hemant Batra Secretary General SAARC-LAW. During the tragic partition of the subcontinent in 1947, Shri Kamrah
ji's family shifted to India from Pakistan & started their life all over
again. After obtaining his higher education from Pilani, Kamrah ji worked as a
volunteer for a better India. With time, he joined various Gandhian
Institutions like Harijan Sevak Sangh, Gandhi Smark Nidhi. In 1965 he set up
Vidya Pati Sansthan with the objective to provide quality education to students
in India. Being a true followers of Gandhiji, Vinobhaji & Didi Nirmala
Deshpande, he value the blend of morality & scientific knowledge for the
betterment of humanity. The more
energetic 85-years of age Shri B.R. Kamrahji gave a message to all especially to youngsters
to keep the pace of hard work at the high velocity to get success in
life. “Faith in God which everyone should possess,” stated Kamrahji. Earlier Mahatma Gandhi Seva Medal was presented to Shri Hemant Batra for strengthening people to people contact
amongst the SAARC countries. While speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest Shri Hemant Batra said,“ At this
juncture, where the whole globe is experiencing the shrinking of morality, we
need to know more about Mahatma Gandhiji & Rabindernath Tagore.” Earlier,
Padamshri S.P Varma in his presidential address said that Tagore was the first
who called Gandhi a Mahatma or a great soul. Varma mentioned that
Tagore’s compositions were chosen by two nations as National Anthems: the
Republic of India’s Jana Gana Mana and Bangladesh’s Amar Shonar Bangla. He
mentioned Tagore was the first non-European who win the Nobel Prize in
Literature in 1913. He also highlighted the activities of GGF undertaken by
various units of the country under the able leadership of its President Shri
Ghulam Nabi Azad Hon’ble union Minister for Health & Family Welfare. Shri Ashok Kapoor Chairman GGF Delhi
State branch appreciated the role of Shri B.R.Kamrah in providing value
oriented education to youths and encouraged socio-economic-disadvantageous
students in making their career. “It is a matter of great satisfaction that
Shri Kamrahji has seen & talked to Mahatma Gandhi is guiding us with his
experience of over 65 years.” Kapoor said. Vote of thankd was presented by Shri
Kailash Pati Sharma, Director Dell International Gurgaon.Other dignitaries
present on the occasion were Mohd Mehsan Arshad, Shri Harsh Vardhan, Dr Nileema
Kamrah, Aamir Rasheed, Ankush Varma, faculty members & students.
